The Christian’s Relationship To The World pt. 1

Today we begin a new study in the book of 1st Peter.  Over the next few weeks we’ll be looking at how this book addresses the salvation  of the believer, the submission of the believer as well as the suffering of the believer.  Let’s join Carl now as he gives us some background on who Peter, the author of this epistle is..to whom this letter was written and the time frame in which it was written.

Experiencing Contentment No Matter What pt. 2

We are at the end of our study of the book of Philippians in a message entitled, Experiencing Contentment No Matter What.  We saw yesterday that if we are going to experience contentment no matter what our circumstances may be we need to learn to wait and we need to learn how to want.  As we pick up today, Pastor Broggi explains that we also need to learn how to receive.  Our text is from Philippians 4:19 to the end of the book.

Experiencing Contentment No Matter What pt. 1

We come today to part 1 of our final message in the series from the book of Philippians.  If you’ve been with us for the past several weeks you know that the theme of Philippians is getting to know Christ better.  Many people call this book, the book of joy…and indeed it does point the way to joy through a closer relationship with Christ…but it is the last part of the book that truly focuses on joy and thus the title for today’s message, Experiencing Contentment, No Matter What. Let’s join Pastor Broggi now as he opens chapter 4 and begins at verse 10.

God’s Formula For Joy pt. 3

We are in the fourth chapter of the book of Philippians, a chapter dealing to a great extent on the subject of joy.  We have seen so far that joy comes from being united as a body of believers.  That joy comes through right praying and through right thinking.  As we conclude today’s message entitled “God’s Formula For Joy” Pastor Broggi looks at verse 7 and gives us insight into the peace of God.

God’s Formula For Joy pt. 2

We are nearing the end of our study of the book of Philippians, and although the majority of this book’s focus is getting a closer relationship with Jesus Christ, Chapter 4 where we find ourselves today spends a great deal of time on the subject of joy.  One way to experience joy is to be free of worry…and as we pick up today, Pastor Broggi compares Paul’s admonition in verse 6 to be anxious for nothing with Jesus’ message from the sermon on the mount in which our Lord gives similar advice asking the rhetorical question “who can add a single cubit to his life by worrying?”

How To Stand Firm In The Lord pt. 3

We are nearing the end of our study in the book of Philippians and we find ourselves at the beginning of chapter 4 where the apostle Paul has identified two women among the Philippian believers who are creating problems because of their inability to get along.  As we pick up today in our message entitled “How to Stand Firm in the Lord” Pastor Broggi gives a little background on Euodia and Scyntiche, the two women Paul calls out.

How To Stand Firm In The Lord pt. 2

We are in a study of the book of Philippians and last week we moved into chapter 4.  While much of this chapter deals with the subject of joy in the life of the Philippian believers, and by application in our lives as well, the apostle Paul felt one way to insure joy was through unity.  Unfortunately, there was a source of disunity in the Philippian church in the form of two women, Euodia and Scyntiche.  As we pick up today Pastor Broggi notes how interesting it is that Paul did specifically identify these two women in his letter.

How To Stand Firm In The Lord pt. 1

Today we move into chapter 4 of our study of Philippians.  Much of this chapter deals with the topic of joy, but as the apostle Paul starts out this section he points the finger to a couple of women in the Philippian congregation who had been stirring up trouble because of disunity among them.  In our message entitled “How to Stand Firm in the Lord” Pastor Broggi looks at the discord among these two and explains why Paul was not shy to address the problem and how we to in this day and age must do all we can to be united in Christ.

The Christian’s Ambition-Part 2. pt. 2

In our ongoing study of the book of Philippians we present today the last segment of a message entitled “The Christian’s Ambition.”  From chapter 3 verses 18:21.  We have seen so far the apostle Paul’s desire for himself, for the Philippians and for us to come to know Christ in a deeper and more meaningful manner.  He urges those reading this letter to follow his example and expressed his grief over the behavior of some so called Christian leaders, who we will see as we pick up today, who set their mind on earthly things and who follow their bellies!
