And as we have seen, chapter 49 of this great book devotes itself to the account of the blessings Jacob bestowed on his twelve sons, prior to dying. We have seen that the blessings given to some of the sons were rather harsh and were likely due to the horrific things some of these men had done in their lives. But as we pick up today in verse 13, we come to the blessing of Zebulun, of whom we have not been given much information.

Through the whole story of Joseph and His brothers, we have been seeing an underlying theme, and that is the sovereignty of God…both in the good and the bad situations. We saw Joseph weeping as he revealed himself to the brothers, and now he weeps again as he sends them on their way to pick up their father and to bring him back to Egypt.
