Much of the behavior of the last days is marked by people doing whatever they want rather than what God commands. And as we pick up today, Dr. Broggi recounts a letter he received about divorce and he emphasizes what God’s standard is as outlined in 1st Corinthians 7.

Godlessness In The Last Days pt. 2

By God’s calendar, we are living in the last days and that we are living in difficult times. As we pick up, we see in verses 2 through 4 the moral character of individuals being used by the devil. In verse 5 we see their religious observance and in verses 6 through 9 their proselytizing zeal. As we rejoin Dr. Broggi he begins a look at these individuals’ moral character.

It is evident to those who have been around for a while that the morals and mores of modern day society are on the decline…but this should come as no surprise. The apostle Paul in his ‘last will and testament’ addressed this to his Son in the faith Timothy and to us.

By this verse Pastor Broggi encourages us all to make sure we really are children of God.

One passage that best addresses that is from John 15, verses 1-11, sometimes called Jesus the vinedresser. Our study is found in John chapter 8 where the woman caught in the act of adultery is brought out by the religious leaders to be stoned. By using legal trickery the Pharisees saw an opportunity to not only dispense justice but to also rid themselves of Jesus. Jewish law called for the stoning of adulterers, but under Roman law Capital punishment by the Jews was forbidden. Let’s pick up now as Pastor Broggi addresses how Jesus faces this conundrum.

Today’s study looks at the gospel of John chapter 8 and the meeting Jesus had with the woman who had been caught in the act of adultery and was brought before the Pharisees and religious leaders of the day who sought not only to make an example of this woman, but who found an opportunity to get rid of Jesus as well.
