By God’s calendar, we are living in the last days and that we are living in difficult times. As we pick up, we see in verses 2 through 4 the moral character of individuals being used by the devil. In verse 5 we see their religious observance and in verses 6 through 9 their proselytizing zeal. As we rejoin Dr. Broggi he begins a look at these individuals’ moral character.

By this verse Pastor Broggi encourages us all to make sure we really are children of God.

In looking at the people of Malachi’s day we saw Thursday that they had disrespected God by what they said. As we pick up in Malachi 1:7 and 8 today we see that they had also disrespected God by what they sacrificed.

One of the most requested prayers we offer is to be made more like Jesus. The whole What Would Jesus Do movement of the 1990s was centered around following God’s will in our lives. One passage that best addresses that is from John 15, verses 1-11, sometimes called Jesus the vinedresser. Unfortunately this passage is so familiar to some of us that we sometimes miss some of the finer nuances. Following the last supper, Jesus and the disciples travel from the upper room to the garden of Getshemane. But along the way they pass a vineyard, and it is here that Jesus teaches the disciples, and us, some great truths about the believer and their relationship with Christ.

Our study is found in John chapter 8 where the woman caught in the act of adultery is brought out by the religious leaders to be stoned. By using legal trickery the Pharisees saw an opportunity to not only dispense justice but to also rid themselves of Jesus. Jewish law called for the stoning of adulterers, but under Roman law Capital punishment by the Jews was forbidden. Let’s pick up now as Pastor Broggi addresses how Jesus faces this conundrum.
