We see in the apostle Paul’s introductory remarks in verses 8 and 9 of chapter 1 of Philippians, Paul’s love for the Philippians expressed through his desire for God to impart His knowledge on them. As we pick up Audrey looks at the meaning of true love expressed through the knowledge of God.

Our study is from 1st Peter 4 and Hebrews 12 and from Hebrews we pick up in verse 8 which reads But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. By this verse Pastor Broggi encourages us all to make sure we really are children of God.

Pastor Broggi, examines from Hebrews chapter 12 the fact that the Holy Spirit, among other things, convicts Christians of right behavior. And when we ignore the prompting of the Spirit, it invites discipline and that discipline can come in the form of suffering.

If we are to triumph as families one critical component has to be that we love the Lord with all our strength, with all our minds, and with all our hearts. In looking at the people of Malachi’s day we saw Thursday that they had disrespected God by what they said. As we pick up in Malachi 1:7 and 8 today we see that they had also disrespected God by what they sacrificed.

We have begun a study of the book of Philippians, and when we left off last week in a message entitled, “Got Joy?” Audrey was looking at verse 6 of chapter 1 which reads “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” Let’s rejoin her now as she picks up on this thought.

We have so far seen the priority and diversity of prayer and we pick up with a look at the scope of prayer. Our passage tells us to pray for those who are in authority…and Dr. Broggi begins today by reminding us from verse 1 that thanksgivings are to be made to God for giving us government which has been established to protect the people.
