In our study of Ruth, we have seen that Ruth, Naomi and Orpah each, by their actions, had a testimony. Naomi’s testimony was that of a believer in God who is carnally minded. Orpah, one of the daughters in law has a testimony of an unbeliever. And as we pick up today with Pastor Carl reading from Chapter 1 verse 14, we find Ruth’s testimony is that of a God fearing woman who is willing to put her trust in the one true God regardless of the consequences.

Today Audrey reminds us that God loves the brokenhearted. King David tells us in Psalm 5 that a broken and contrite heart, God will not despise…rather, this is what He is drawn to…this is the sacrifice with which He is pleased.

If we are to triumph as families one critical component has to be that we love the Lord with all our strength, with all our minds, and with all our hearts. In looking at the people of Malachi’s day we saw yesterday that they had disrespected God by what they said. As we pick up in Malachi 1:7 and 8 today we see that they had also disrespected God by what they sacrificed.
