Victory in Christendom cannot be claimed in the power of the flesh. A victorious church is a church that is spirit filled and that is operating in and by the power of the Holy Spirit…for although in the flesh we will always burn out…the Holy Spirit is the energizing force that allows us to persevere in spite of circumstances, exhaustion or spiritual attacks.

On the day of Pentecost when many foreigners gathered in Jerusalem the Holy Spirit filled many believers and allowed them to speak in foreign languages, such that the foreigners understood them. Today Dr. Broggi notes that this miracle sought to bring the world to faith in Christ despite the fact that the incident at the tower of Babel had produced a multitude of languages.

We saw on our last program that the first of four ingredients for a triumphant church is the evidence of a supernatural power. On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit manifested himself through the speaking of foreign tongues by those in attendance. These tongues were genuine foreign languages in distinguishable dialects. Today we will see that this gift manifested among God’s people is different from the tongues that some churches promote.
